Fiba has increased the number of teams playing in Eurobasket 2011 final tournament from 16 up to 24.

Decision was announced during the last Fiba Executive Committee meeting in Istanbul.

 

The European participants in 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey, qualify directly for the Final Round of EuroBasket 2011.

 

These are Spain, Serbia, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia, France, Turkey, Russia, Germany and EuroBasket 2011 hosts Lithuania.

Next 5 national teams have won the right to play at EuroBasket 2011 during Qualifying Round.

These are: Montenegro, Israel, Great Britain, Macedonia and Belgium.

 

 After Fiba has decided to increase the numberof championships participants next 9 national teams from official ranking will play in the final tournament.
